Donny Bowers captured these great photos from an October storm. I lived in Hatteras for a spell and the locals will tell you more damage comes from the Noreasters than the hurricanes. Special note Pete Mendia sent me some pictures (and video) of he and Che Lopez and some rippers from North Carolina catching this swell .. Sorry I am barred from posting them. Once the article comes out I maybe will be able to show them... Check out EXPN for show on the trip. One kid had his entire truck washed over by a wave.
