- About Me:
- I began taking trips over to Cocoa Beach from Tampa to go surfing in 1963. First board was a 9'10" Koval. In 1968 we were taking 15 to 20 kids over in the Chartreuse Moose -- thus began the Rising Sun Surf Club. Much, much later, I wrote a book, "Macedonia Passage: Dangerous Cargo," an adventure with the action following a stays'l schooner making a transatlantic and sailing the Mediterranean -- Italy, Greece, the Greek islands, the sw Turkish coast and culminating in Istanbul.

Craig Smith from Tampa ..longtime surfer-musician, works in the post office. He saw that unique name and when the guy came by he asked him if he was THE Koval.. and it was. I would love to interview that guy. I started out on my friend Pete Diaz's Koval.
